EC-130B4 Sun Shades

Hello,

I'm a private EC-130B4 operator in the US and am looking for sun shades or tinted panels for the front cockpit glass similar like the EC-135/145 have. My searches have so far turned up nothing. Anyone have a good sollution that is elegant and looks appropriate?

Thanks

I seem to remember these people might have a solution. Air Covers - Home of the Copter Cover. Might be worth an email. I seem to remember them doing internal shade and not just covers.

I use Bruce's custom covers. They are easy to work with and quick to dispatch (about a week). Good quality as well.

Are you taking about covers, or a sun shade that fit inside the windscreen to shield your eyes from the sun whilst flying?

No I'm talking about screens that would be used during flight. They should be tinted and see through. Similar to what the EC-145/135 have.

As I thought, the posters above were confused with the terminology. I'll have a dig around at work for you.

Hey Chuck,

Yeah I bought those too but they don't always stay on. Hopefully someone makes a proper STC'd tinted sun screen.

The ones for the 135 from the OEM cost £1500 around 14 years ago, not sure what they charge now. They have to be poppered on so a degree of preparation is required to fit them.

My portable version - sunglasses and a baseball cap - was significantly cheaper!:)

I use a normal grey car window shade with the sucker thing in the middle for long ferries.
It folds out to be about 40x40cm and folds away small enough to put in a pocket in the cockpit....and cheaper than £1500
