South Africa for a low-timer?

Hi guys,

Any help greatly appreciated on this one! Is there any info on some companies around Botswana/ Namibia hiring us newbies?

Not too much going on in those areas, more in Tswana than in Nibs though.

Try Kriek Helicopters first then have a talk with Horizons.

Good luck! :ok:

African Eagle, if not in Botswana or Namibia, can you recommend any other areas that might prove fruitful?

Also would it be a case of having to make a trip down there? Id be more than willing to fly from Ireland if I had some hope

EI-tom, the situation with helicopters in Botswana is not the same as for fixed wing. The opportunities are few in rotary and even the fixed wing turnover and openings have slowed over the past 2-3 years.

There are occasional openings in Guam, the Philippines and elsewhere flying tuna and, if you can arrange it with the flight school regarding visas, then there are regularly flight instructor openings in the US such as -

1. Chicago area helicopter company is actively seeking a helicopter CFII.

Thanks again for your help African Eagle,

Unfortunately no FAA license let alone CFI..maybe somewhere down the pipeline though!

Have a read of this page and see if you can't raise what is needed to gain an FAA licence with CFI rating because if you can, and if you can sort out the visa with a training outfit, you will be in a better position to get going.
