Omni S76A - smoke without fire?

Interesting video from an incident at Macae.

Great to see the airport fire service arrive so quickly with their modern equipment. ;)

Is that the company that reportedly shuns any maintenance work if at all possible! Good gambling for the profits though!

A 76 doing a Lynx impression :ok:

Good thinking to rotate the Blades in preparation for the next takeoff!

Even more worrying is the apparent disregard for the tail rotor of the other machine!.

With every other machine on the ramp facing into wind, it begs the question why the S76 is downwind and whether that exacerbated the problem?

There were certainly plenty of flames at the beginning of the video, before being overtaken by the smoke billowing around the head and the cockpit area. I can't help but think that if it were facing into wind it would have been less dramatic and also easier to contain.

Looks like an engine vent spitting oil into exhaust. How much higher was this airport in comparison to its normal base altitude?
