The National Transportation Safety Board was en route and will investigate the crash, Baker said. The FAA will also investigate.

So sad. I used to go hiking outsideof Scranton. The topogrophy is lots of low ridgelines (about 1000-2000') Going through there at night it was almsot inevitable that he run into that broken layer at some point.

This seems awful respects to all involved

Not wishing to be a grim reaper but I'm surprised about lack of news/ response on here?

I read on another website the pilot reported losing power. Perhaps they got a load of Avgas into the R66.

Wouldn't be an issue, unlike the other way round. Anyway, sad news.

are you sure about that fact?
will a RR330 really run on avgas?
i don't think so.
