Bangladesh Army crash, July 2013

A pilot sustained injuries as a training helicopter of Bangladesh Army crash landed at Chouthan in Dhamrai upazila on the outskirts of the capital yesterday. Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a press release said trainee pilot Major Syed Nazrul Islam along with co-pilot Lt Col Ariful Bari made an emergency landing due to technical fault while they were on a training flight.

Seems to be a 206L.

Are these popular for trainers?

Looking at that tab it is going to need a Track and Balance.

(Puts on helmet and retreats to corner ... )

MightyGem 4th Jul 2013 13:51

Oh oh. Looks like someone forgot to bolt the skids to the fuselage.

DirtDiver 4th Jul 2013 18:14

Skids still can be reused, look pretty good ;)
At least standing straight up ;)

A case of Senior Officer syndrome, perhaps?

"You have control!" (he! he!)
"No you ****, you have control!"

CRUNCH!

Can't think where I've heard that one before!

So based on the pics can this helicopter be repaired or is it a writeoff?

According Helihub.com Reg nr. is S3-BMK
According Rotorspot.nl S3-BMK is w/o (written off)
I could not find conformation of this elsewhere on the web.

S3 ? civil register ?

Self loading bear 10th Jan 2015 19:35

Yes it made me wonder a bit too.
but on this link you can see the aft end of a K
S3-BMK
And the accident reports of helihub.com are pretty good up to speed.

gotta give em full marks for making transport on the truck easy; blades off, tail off, skids separate easy peasy
