Guardia Civil EC135 accident
 

It seems the helicopter touched the refuge with their blades landing after a mountain rescue. No more information at the moment :eek:

Well, where one blade goes the others will usually follow. That's what I call a blade strike.

Post-rotor strike, I think they can consider themselves very lucky!

In the first picture, the gutter on the building is damaged.

Given its close proximity to the steep slope, would we wait for rotors to stop turning or bail immediately?

I would have legged it mate. Blades were shortened considerably...
I wonder if the pilot just slammed it against the ground after the first strike to prevent rolling down the slope. Any landing you can walk away from..

But seems to me this was the wrong machine for the job; something equipped with a winch would have been more appropriate.

The missus had the same problem once when she used my Rover 75 to go shopping instead of her VW Polo. She tried to back into a space into which the Polo would normally fit but ended up bouncing off the car behind her while the front of the Rover was still in the road!

Only thing is, touch parking in the 135 just isn't as forgiving as it used to be - even with them new straw blades! ;)

They had better be careful when lifting it out as the downdraft from something like a CH47 could easily blow it over the edge!:=

Looks like a job for a hacksaw, a bit of weight reduction, a bold pilot and Oh a big pair of pampas.

Will this be classed as a hard landing? That aside a fortunate one, these guys did well/or very lucky. Recovery job might be interesting!
