Margaret Hilda Thatcher RIP

Margaret Hilda Thatcher

13th October 1925 - 8th April 2013

~

Britain's greatest Prime Minister after Winston (in my humble view).

RIP Baroness Thatcher

RIP, A fine leader who showed a lot of bottle at times.

Coincidently I watched Iron Lady a couple of nights ago.

You might not agree with all of her policies but no denying (in my mind) that she was the last great British PM. She makes those following her and the current generation of Uk politicans seem very weak and timid.

Rotorheads A haven for helicopter professionals to discuss the things that affect them
I struggle to see what this thread has to do with this forum.

Hear, hear. Off to Jet Blast with you.

But before you go, here's a thought: state funeral or national party?

If we'd had a defence secretary as strong as her - then (John Knott) we'd have done the job properly in the Falklands and carried on into Argentina making it:
Argentiniashire.:D

She transformed this country for the better. Sorely missed.

Hobo: If you read the Nostalgia Thread you would know that Maggie was a keen Rotorheads fan! ;)

I had the pleasure of flying her whilst at Alan Mann's shortly after she came out of office; very charming lady. From memory it was up to Teesside from Heathrow in one of the FJC aircraft. RIP Maggie.

I agree with you Spitfire boy!

RIP Maggie!

I always remember her commons retort to a suggestion that she should be the governor of the new European Central Bank. When the chaos subsided she sparked " what a good idea! "

Brilliant patriotic lady.

Please not a thread for every celebrity death...otherwise we'll risk descending into...

Apparently she asked to be cremated, but there's no coal...

Lonewolf_50 8th Apr 2013 15:03

She made her mark. On the balance, from this side of the pond, more good than harm. Knew what being a leader was about.

And let's not all forget to add the habitual and inappropriate PPRuNe "condolences to all involved"
