407,

I'm thinking the same. I think we should apply some resistance to get some positive feedback from this thread!

Senior Pilot 8th Feb 2013 07:56

Or just go ohm and see watts for tea?

SASless 8th Feb 2013 08:58

Yes...but definitely measured inputs compared to the first one.

RotorRPM 8th Feb 2013 09:17

So what's the point in having something that shows areas of triggered lightning if people don't use it?!?!

Rocket2 8th Feb 2013 12:15

You lot should be grounded :p

Efirmovich 8th Feb 2013 12:26

All too much for me on a Faraday !:O

Dry wretched thunder 8th Feb 2013 12:49

They are maybe keeping information about this locked up in the volt !!

SASless 8th Feb 2013 12:58

I wonder what the Charge for this was?

CharlieOneSix 8th Feb 2013 13:02

Did the lightning hit the fuse-lage or somewhere else?

Sudden Stop 8th Feb 2013 15:04

Which bright-spark started the puns?

strictlyrotary 8th Feb 2013 15:20

I think we have AMPle puns now people....

SASless 8th Feb 2013 15:30

I am positive these negative posts are an attempt to ground the thread by shorting the input and shedding current output.

strictlyrotary 8th Feb 2013 15:41

Sorry dave18 what on earth must you think of us....

Flash message

So was the damn thing struck or not?

Mikila1A 8th Feb 2013 17:27

Bellboy,

Do not get all charged up, someone will have a flashy and electrified response any moment!

lowfat 8th Feb 2013 17:48

Seems like a flash in the pan to me!

Franklin realized the dangers of using conductive rods and instead used a Helicopter. The increased height allowed him to stay on the ground and the Helicopter was less likely to electrocute him. Franklin kept the string to the Helicopter dry at his end to insulate him while the rest of the string was allowed to get wet in the rain to provide conductivity. A key was attached to the string and connected to a leyden jar which Franklin correctly assumed to accumulate electricity from the lightning bolt. The Helicopter wasn't struck by visible lightning, but Franklin noticed the strings of the Helicopter were repelling each other and deduced that the Leyden jar was being charged. Franklin reportedly received a mild shock by moving his hand near the key afterwards, because as he had estimated, lightning had negatively charged the key and the Leyden jar, proving the electric nature of lightning
Fearing that the test would fail or that he would be ridiculed, Franklin took only his son to witness the experiment with himself and published the accounts of the test in third person.

Good old Benjamin Franklin

A highly charged debate ?

Jet Ranger 8th Feb 2013 23:37

Everything is true. I was there accidentally in the fisherman boat (on fishing with friends) and I saw evth. The helicopter (red, white or sth like that) in the storm, lightning etc etc ...

But I donīt want to speak about that, no no :suspect:

Lots of polarity in charges too it seems.
