Is it realistic to see $25,000/month as a contract salary? USD. Or is this some sort of scam?

Mmmm ...

I would have thought US$10,000 to $13,000/month would be closer to the mark unless you have to wear Camo and Chicken plates!

Not as a salary. But $800 daily x 30 days = $24,000 wouldn't be too far off the mark.

$24000 every other month = $12000 a month average.

1 month on/1 month off, paid for month on only.

Lousy wage anyway, offshore Oz pays way more than that in $A. HEMS would be that for a starting salary and home 6 nights out of 8 with 6 weeks leave :ok:

Oz is the new Norway, riding the largess of labor friendly legislation and artificially created shortages of offshore pilots. Try the rest of the 139 world and that rate would be typical.

As long as it is NET! Meaning it is salary only and travel, accommodations, expenses, per diems are paid over and above the 25k.

There is a company out there paying 25k monthly but one has to cover all the above mentioned items inclusive of salary. That realistically results in a net salary of 10-15k per month. International travel to our oil and gas gardens of Eden, hotels, food, visas....etc can add up.

I wonder how many donuts I could buy with 25k!!!! :)

It's not even really a decent number, because I doubt anybody out there is paying $25,000 a month salary. In most people's definition, a salary is something you get once a month as a full time employee.

That 25,000 is almost certainly only paid for months at the work site, like I said previously anybody getting a (low end of the market) $800 a day would earn that. But that works out at $150,000 a year, ball park for what you would get working for any major operator in the international O&G market, with full benefits and decent job security. As you say, it sucks even more if you have to pay travel and accommodation out of it.
