Apache in London
Hi all
About 7pm last night there was an Apache doing low level orbits near Monument / London Bridge. I see them occasionally transiting along the Thames from my office, but have never seen one acting in the same manner as the police machines. Guess he could have been told to hold at London Bridge, but was just wondering if the Met were considering upgrading? ;) Snowrider |
Yes, the Met are about to sign-up for two Longbow Apache's to take on their surveillance work but with a combined armed response capability.
;) |
there really are better options out there! Why does the government waste money on aircraft like the AH-64 when Robinson have a far more economic option unveiled only 2 years ago.....

London Bridge is a normal holding point when routing east/west on the Thames.

Maddy
Is that a modified 7 seat trainer? see it has all the bells & whistles + fluffy dice |
Thats a standard police set-up I believe... There are several options available though...
I guessing Sloane would have details??? :ok: MADY |
Prince Harry trawling for girls.
|
Must be coincidence ! Same happened here at Bristol, around 8pm it was holding overhead the city centre for 30 minutes, most of the time being stationary
|
Hmmm, that looks familiar!
|
Didn't it used to have guns on it, Hollywood?:ok:
|
Bar
Now I think of it, there is a pretty big bar near where it was orbiting.
It is mostly underground, but I know the Apache has some very special cameras, so the Harry theory is winning ... |
guns on it? - That would have been the military setup.
