EC135 Bombing Capability

Any truth in the rumour that an EC135 (based at another 'London' airfield) performed a baggage-spreading operation upon departing Denham a few days ago?

I bet it wasn't in the flight plan to go back and pick them up!

Depends on the "Industry Sources".

EC135 Bombing Capability
I always knew the 135 had potential! :E

Isn't there a little light saying "BAGGAGE DOOR OPEN" or something?

C'mon Jeremy, share the photo then!

No, there isn't.
The doors are very big and, if open, you normally cant overlook them, because they are held in open position by gas compression spring.

Anyone know the part number for baggage compartment net or sth., to tie down stuff at the back?

Yet will remain in the closed but not latched position as the gas springs over centre.

Quite a few US registered machines have a microswitch fitted in the lower sill wired into the "EPU Door" circuit.

Surprising that it is not standard and the caption changed to read "BAG/EPU Door".

That's why I always make sure that my doors are locked, not just closed.

Bravo Jeremy! :D

As Paco will doubtless remember; even on the Towers LongRanger we had a caution light for the baggage door.

From what I remember .. the switch and its associated wiring wasn't that expensive.

Can we stop speculating please? It was hot as hell this week, if HOLM doesnt have air-con, the pilot may have opened the doors for ventilation..... :ok:

No, they wont remain in the closed position. I just checked it out with my current ship... even with some load in the right clamshell door compartment they open instantely.
