And the wait goes on for Mark Weir's gazelle report. RIP.

G-FIRS:-

"With departure thus delayed, and mindful of the need to complete the flight in daylight hours, the pilot departed directly with his passenger, having forgotten to carry out the three solo circuits."

Uh oh !

The R22 accident was SO SO avoidable. A shame, shedding bad light at the school/operator a bit as well.

61hr pilot carrying passenger, probably steep approach with left crosswind, no recency, no legal 3 t/o&ldngs, indicating high RoD below ETL. Or maybe normal approach, but high RoD.

Doubt that collective near UP limit was there during 'hover auto' as the engine was running, but one can only ask so much from it before the RRPM droops and right yaw starts. Left pedal making things worse.

'Good' example why we got hammered to us to keep RoD under control going into confined area with limited power available and below ETL.

Me too. Saw his helicopter in the black hangar at Farnboro recently - not pretty...
