A 113 hour pilot is able to accurately assess the cause of the accident.......:ooh:

bvgs 16th Jun 2012 18:33

As the pilot I think he is in the best position to access the cause and I believe very honest in his comments.

stringfellow 16th Jun 2012 18:51

Jed. Can i ask you what you hope to achieve with a comment like that? I for one would be delighted if im still flying at 63, and who better to comment on the accident than the pilot himself? I just find comments like that offensive.

Jed A1 18th Jun 2012 12:10

I know it's difficult to interpret the intent of a comment through the written word hence my addition of a facial expression!

Absolutely no offense is meant to anyone.

I think there may be other issues at play that would be worth exploring rather than leave the verdict in the hands of the pilot at the controls.

stringfellow 18th Jun 2012 21:07

My apologies jed i never saw the facial expression!!! I just get fed up of people winding up low hours pilots!!! No offense taken i was just venting!!

Fly safe.

Now then, what do the panel think about confined areas?

I know I've been caught out a few times by squirelly winds coming from all directions - one minute it's in front of you next behind. It certainly feels like you are over controlling but in reality you are just trying to catch up with the environmental conditions which you're not fully understanding at the time. Practice and currency certainly help.

To answer your question Jed A1 in reference to post #1 in very simple manner,

Before getting in/out of a confined Areas you better know how to drive.

I understand that my remark doesn't help the poor guy with the 44 and also the other guy that called a mayday in bad weather after loosing his DG etc and a Police Helicopter had to go and bring him back to the airport (close by)while witnesses on the ground were taking pictures.

But sometimes, you shake your head and say "what the %$# is going on out there":hmm:
