Schweizer 333 who uses them ?

Just inheriteted some 333 parts, apart from putting them on a shelf to gain dust any operators out there or will Sikorsky restock ?
Answers on a post card !

There are no current operators in the UK, there is no S333 flying in UK any more. The only ones left are held by Fast Helicopters at Shoreham. They have recently sold two to Fuchs Helicopters Switzerland according to Helihub. Dependent upon the parts, Fast might be interested. There is an operator in Holland I think.

Out of curiosity, I'd be interested to learn how you 'inherited' them.

Is that the G-TAME
Where are TAM\A\B

eivissa 26th Apr 2012 09:48

G-TAMA/B/E are different serial numbers.

They fly or used to fly:
D-HSPZ [c/n 0031A]
D-HSPC [c/n 0059A]

A.Agincourt 26th Apr 2012 10:30

G-TAMA [0051A] Deregistered permanently - was rendered completely un servicable and beyond flight again. G-TAMB [0052A] and G-TAME [0035A] sold to Fuchs. G-TAMC [0054A] still awaiting sale.

With the exception of G-TAME all others were direct imports from the US and were not previously registered.

eivissa: think you got it wrong.

G-TAMA Accident Details On 04/02/2008 » Griffin Helicopters

helihub 26th Apr 2012 12:18

Additional to the Swiss and German ones mentioned above, you'd also be looking at these in Europe - HeliHolland have 2, plus there are 2 in Poland and 1 in each of Sweden and Slovenia. You can see the US fleet here - it includes four with the San Antonio Police - and there's quite a fleet (8 or so) in Mexico.
.
TAMA/C/D were all still at Shoreham four weeks ago, although the pic below was taken in 2010.
  • TAMA was de-registered Jun-08 so it looks like it never flew after its accident in Feb-08.
  • TAMC CofA expired Sep-09
  • TAMD CofA expired Jun-09
  • TAME for completeness this was acquired from France where it had been operating on an FAA registration.

Fast Helicopters - administrators were appointed 2nd February, they filed their proposals on 16th March and in the absence of anything to the contrary, those proposals were accepted on 3rd April. The registered office of Fast Helicopters Ltd has been c/o PriceWaterhouseCoopers since 27th February.

The fact that there were no other bidders could have told you something eh? I think you got saddled with a lemon or two there.

I think internationally that the saudi's in Jeddah at the military instruction school were attempting to use 333's, could be wrong but maybe a chance.

The Saudi deal may be weak.

It was actually the 434 for the Border Guard.

At this year's Heli-Expo Pino seemed to voice the death sentence for the 434 [other than for the Saudi's] as a project. Meanwhile other strands suggest the Saudi's are have some difficulties in getting their local pilot trainees to turn up for work more than a couple of days when they read the training manual. Camel's preferred it seems.

So, if the whole fleet of 434's is delivered it looks like the whole project is going to end up something like the pile of Westland WG30's...... lots of post time on pprune but no flight time to speak of...... those spares may be a BIG lemon.

We have airframes out there bedevilled by spares shortages but I suspect that the 434 will have the opposite effect.....

Haha......A.Agincourt

How is it that you appeared suprised about the sale then suggest Hughes500 gets saddled with a lemon.....looked like a ripping deal to me £100k+ of spares from what I saw.

Hughes500 if you want to move the 900 spares on I might have a contact for you.

What's this I hear No screwdriver :E:{

Hughes500 26th Apr 2012 22:08

A Agincourt
Hm let me see a pair of 269 tail rotor blades ( done 1100 hours) were in the package. On the basis of the list price of these blades then what i paid for the 269 blades meant all the rest of the 269 spares were free !
Seeing as i run a couple of 269's and my engineer looks after 14 of them i think i am doing ok thank you. the bell 206 spares included a tr gearbox the bidding stopped at £ 2300, that would obviously be another lemon then !

nigelh 26th Apr 2012 23:05

Hughes500 Take no notice ....we all know that private pilots are usually decent businessmen ( they need to be to afford their own helicopter ) and in my experience professional pilots are very good at flying ........Enough said :ok:
