B2 Squirrel crash - Milford,NZ
Un-be-freakin-liveable. New helicopter takes flight uncommanded.
Who gets out of a helicopter and leaves it at flight rpm? So do the pax get loaded & secured & doors closed on left/right side while the machine is sitting there screaming at full noise ready to lift with no one at the controls? Are you kidding me? Just to save RINS? Surely the operators operations manual wouldn't allow this? NZCAA - should be a pretty straight forward investigation for them. Shaking head. |
yes, this unbelievable. But it still happens.
I frequently also get out of the Astar for things like unhooking Bambi Bucket etc. But never would I leave the A/C at full RPM. It just doesn't feel right and common sense kicks in. There are always some pretty dumb pilots around and equally dumb operators trying to save some dollars and end up trashing a few millions.....:ugh: |
When did this happen?
|
Semi Rigid,
Maybe you could give some reference to what you're talking about? A news report, an accident report, personal knowledge? Most of us are probably trying to guess WTHIH ;) |
|
who told you it was at full noise? The pilot? Tour guide? Neighbour's dog?
|
Semi Rigid - Presume you are talking about JS's B2 that fell over about week ago.
|
Ned,
If you can post a link to the supposed event, please do so, otherwise this thread will be history as an unsubstantiated rant by the OP :hmm: |
Thanks. Shaky, but I'll let it run for further response from Semi Rigid :ok:
|
This is a very interesting thread.
Where's my popcorn? |
Senior pilot - I only post sustantiated facts. Only 1 phone call was required.
Dragman - pointless. |
Semi Rigid,
You posted an obtuse and perplexing OP, after which you chose to ignore my request to you to elaborate: you viewed my request and later logged off. None of us here are clairvoyant, and I'm certainly not going to make a phone call to NZ (or wherever) in compliance with your apparently sarcastic reply  I think this thread is done if that's your response :ugh: |
