The J N Somers Scholarship for a frozen ATPL

Hi All

Does anyone out there know if the The J N Somers Scholarship for a frozen ATPL is solely for fixed wing? or do they consider Rotary aswell?

Thanks in advance.

Ned-Air2Air 5th Jan 2010 22:38

Tudor - Well done to the Guild and great to see them getting behind helicopters. :ok:

Planks only.

The equivalent cost for a 'frozen' ATPL(H) would probably be at least double the cost of a 'frozen' ATPL(A). (For example, the cost of the IR(H) alone is nearly the same as the whole 'frozen' ATPL(A)!)

They have been for years, Ned. The Weetabix scholarship was first awarded in 2004, and that obviously doesn't include the hundreds of GAPAN members who come from rotary backgrounds. ;)

Bravo - Sorry never realised they were that much involved with the helo side.

Last year, there were just 15 candidates for this Scholarship.

Good odds for the cost of a postage stamp to submit an application?
