Helicorp - is it a good company?

Hi all

Has anyone had some recent involvement (last 2 years) with Helicorp (Aust.) and if yes are they a good, professional organisation or one to be cautious with?

Any relevant info is appreciated

Helicorp aren't the worry, it's the mob that own them you have look out for.

kwikenz 17th Oct 2009 00:34

bladebanger ... up to your usual tricks I see.

An old Kiwi Prime Minister once said about NZ'ers moving across the ditch, that it would "improve the IQ of both countries" ... seems you're flat out proving the point.
:hmm:

bladebanger 17th Oct 2009 00:40

Well

Kwikenz,
No tricks, I just deal in fact's. There are none there, and I've heard due to that fact it's a good company!

change of manager

Any truth to the rumour SG is no longer GM and PM is the new boss??

Friendly Black Dog 17th Oct 2009 02:05

Well, the latest job ad does have PM as the contact person so I think you can answer yes to the last question.

What does employing kiwi's have to do with whether or not a company is reputable & good to work for? Or are you being facetious.......?

fadecdegraded 17th Oct 2009 05:11

maybe the issue is not 'why are no kiwis employed by this company', but why do kiwis choose not to work for this company, pehaps they could,nt get any kiwis to work for them, just a thought

bladebanger 18th Oct 2009 00:54

No

Semi Rigid,
Well if there were Kiwi's working there it would be not as good a place to work. Facetious? Well only a little.

fedacdegraded,
Kiwi's choosing NOT to work somewhere? I find that unimaginable.

Helicorp use's lots of Kiwi's to fly the Erickson Cranes on fires, but only one Australian !

Ned-Air2Air 18th Oct 2009 04:13

Bladebanger - I have visited many companies around the world and all nationalities have their $hit hot guys and they all have their farQknuckles, and that includes Aussies and Kiwis.

Making a comment such as yours just shows ignorance as some of your fellow countrymen leave a lot to be desired, and on the other hand I have met many Australians who I would classify as true professionals and are some of the best in the business.

Give credit where credit is due and base your opinion on individuals and their actions, and not a generalisation of a nationality. :ok:

Well

Ned-Air2Air,
Did you ever visit Pacific In PNG. If so you would know what I'm on about. Good company, good people to work with, great pay and conditions. Have a look NOW. Now that's giving credit where credit is due. (you asked for that one).

Granny,
Well pointed out.

Ned-Air2Air 18th Oct 2009 06:36

Banger - No I havent so cant comment, but just because its being run by specific kiwis that you dont like, doesnt mean that every kiwi is entitled to be bagged.

Its like someone not liking you at whatever company you work for an then bagging every other Aussie because of it. Thats all I am trying to say, dont tar everyone with the same brush. We all have our good people and we all have the others who we would rather wish stayed locked up in the garden shed.

What's wrong with Pacific Helicopters NOW? If that was your inference.

TukTuk BoomBoom 18th Oct 2009 23:48

Ive seen Pacific pretty recently and its totally rooted, its been run into the ground by, mainly, aussies.
Was that your point Banger?
Helicorp couldnt be worse!!

Nigel Osborn 19th Oct 2009 00:53

At least Helicorp has 2 good blokes as General Manager & Chief Pilot!!:ok:j

schrauber 19th Oct 2009 00:58

Has anyone got more info on Helicorp and a little less on Kiwis and Australians?

poppahymen 19th Oct 2009 03:19

Has anyone got more info on Helicorp and a little less on Kiwis and Australians?

No now back to the Aussie and Kiwi bashing

bigsquirrel 19th Oct 2009 03:48

Schrauber, check your PMs

Heliringer 19th Oct 2009 05:47

What sort of Helicopters do Helicorp operate? is it all twins or do they have singles with progression onto the twin stuff?

Thanks for any info

gulliBell 19th Oct 2009 23:36

TTBB, You can't blame Aussies entirely for where Pacific are now. The Canadian experiment was not helpful at all for them, not that I'm bashing Canadians (or Aussies or Kiwis).

What is wrong with Pacific Helicopters NOW? They have been updating their fleet, winning numerous contracts, which is more than I can say about another certain PNG operator. Pacific have a stable workforce and they are getting the jobs done.

stinkychicken 24th Jan 2010 06:21

What's the going rate for single VFR drivers in PNG and the tax rate?

Better still what's the take home pay like these day's in Aus $ for experienced drivers?

EBCAU 24th Jan 2010 11:46

Nett take home PNG in $A roughly about $60 - 70,000 depending who you're with and what you can offer.
