Only in texas ........

Aerial hunting of predators and destructive animals by helicopter and airplane has long been done in the American west. No news here.
|
We do it lots here in Australia, I was looking for Buffalo today.
So not only in Texas |
The governor of Alaska seems to be in favor of hunting almost anything from helicopters or from just about anything else.

Hog hunting from a helicopter.....now that woud be a hoot!
Live fire training for military gunners! |
Sounds like fun, plus it's desperately needed in Texas and other areas where wild hogs are running rampant. The damage a herd of these critters can do to crops, lawns, golf courses, etc. as they go rooting for forage is incredible. They reproduce at a phenomenal rate, and are extremely intelligent, making traditional hunting methods ineffective. If you don't take out the entire herd, the survivors will scatter and start several other herds, making the problem grow exponentially. The thinking behind aerial hunting is that it makes "escapees" more visibile and easier to hunt down.

why not go the whole hog ( Groan )
And get an AH64 , a bet that chain gun would make short work of them , In fact I think Sasless has a great idea , the farmers could charge the army for the training time . Mindya they probably would not be good eating after being hit by some 30mm , |
Not such a good idea...
The Army would probably kill the pig, along with any cows, horses or chickens within a few miles of the pig. Collateral damage anyone?
