Uhhh they look really bad, but seems like they got away with just a "new story to tell" ....and a big bill to pay:E
...by the way those Seats arent stock are they??? I have flown in an 120 which had leather seats but they appear to have an additional support for your lower back?! I hope every body was unharmed! Cheers Captino |
Just for my own curiosity, how would an EC-145 come thru an incident like this? Anyone knowledgeable on the design who can shed light on that?

Well, hopefully the center spar in the windscreen which the control cables run through is built strong enough to withstand this sort of impact. Else....
Is not this 145 issue a problem with certification in some countries (think bird strike as well) ?? |

Forgive me for asking but what control cables run through the windscreen center spar, looking at the second photo it seems as if the spar is almost completely cut through. Solar |
He was answering my question about an EC145- where the flight control cables are run thru the center post of the windscreens.
I think at least the UK won't allow certification because of bird strike problems, don't know if that is still valid though. I have wondered how it would fare in a wire strike ever since I heard about the control cable routing. Mark |
seat pics
wonder if there were any brown stains on the front seats...
|
They are lucky it only got to the door posts, that was just about a "neck high" wire strike!

Cable MUST have snapped
