Helicorp
How is Helicorp going in timor and in general. Haven't heard anything. Have they settled in.:)
|
I have heard that they are battling.
On their frist day of op's there, their 412 went U/S. It stayed that way for something like 16 days. Then their 212 decided it wanted a rest too. The servicability seesawed between the two machines for the rest of the month. An informed source told me that they did not achive 50% perfromance for the month, (October). The Aust Army must be seething, their minimum acceptable limit is 95% performance. I hear a revue of Helicorps contract in Timor is about to begin. Some very unhappy chappies at the coal face too. Op's |
hey Ops
hows the dark continent treating you.... heard things at the Sols are average too.. B |
It's all good mate.
A couple of teething problems on the shuffle. New contracts. New places and faces. Just livin' the dream! Op's |
What about their fire contracts in Victoria..I heard that it is a complete stuff up and that they don't have all their machines ready to start yet even though the contracts started last month.
|
And it gets worse!
Last week, (Monday), their 212 in Dili had an emergency landing near Hera, (10 min flight East Of Dili). Evidently the main gear box didn't want to play any more. I'm told the main input quill seized. Lucky to walk away from I hear. Helicorp had the machine loaded onto a truck and returned the machine to Dili by road. Hard enough on that road in a car! After searching for a main gear box I heard they've got one out of Canada. What's next???? Op's |
We have a 412 available for fire fighting, anybody knows of anyone in need of this type? How do contracts in Australia look like, any guaranteed hours? Any information is welcomed.
|
not much happening in Australia so far this season All contracts have been awarded for the next 3 years as far as I know... and there are a lot of Australian registered mediums far more capable than a 412 sitting on the ground waiting if things do change within the next few weeks....
|
I hear Helicorp are behind the eight ball again / still.
Their 412 has been U/S for quite some days last month for something as simple as changing a governor. Simple if your support system in Aust. can get one to you. So much for the organisation of the company stores with a world wide transport organisation along side. Don't blame the in country engineers, they have to do with what they have got, empty stores shelves, and, they have to tame the burrowing critter. The ADF must have had a gut full by now. |
You sure get the inside scoop op's! You should trade the stick for a maginfyling glass and long coat dude!! :ok:.......And I have no involvement BTW. I'm the deputy Chief Pilot for Aeroplane Jelly..........

A little birdie told me that Helicorp have lost the AFP contract in Canberra. Apart from the Department of Soot & Embers for fire work, that must leave a lot of gash airframes and drivers into the future  |
If BW still has anything to do with it i can understand them having problems, something else he can't write in his resume.

The ADF is the client in East Timor
Helicorp/PDL have not had a good run over there with monthly servicability stats. They supply one 412 and one 212. |
Just to clear it up, the AFP cancelled the contract in Canberra, Helicorp did not lose it.
|
Probably still better servicability than ADF Helos!
|
So Op's Normal..whats the goss this week from your very non reliable source ;-) about Helicorp....
|
Correct weight
MG, I have read every entry by Ops Normal on this thread and he is right on the money, in fact I looked around the dinner table tonight and tried to work out who he is.
|
What's the goss on Helicorp these days or is it Toll Helicopters??
|
Current 'goss' is that they are no longer the Erickson Aircrane AOC sponsor: Ray Cronin has picked that up at Mangalore and will become DSE/NAFC operator of choice, along with McDermott.
Well done Ray :ok: |
