Norsk Helikopter is hiring!
|
Interresting! Why did Norsk lower the requirements to 500 hours?
I was under the impression that the difficulties behind finding qualified pilots, was because most applicants didīnt have an Instrument Rating. Are there more 500 hour pilots out there with an Instrument than 1000 hour pilots? rotordude |
Hi there!
I believe applicants need : 500 hours IR rated ATPL theory AND fluent in norwegian...:( |
norsk
where does it state "fluent in Norwegian"
|
Yes! norwegian fluent not required! Sorry! My screen is small
|
The requirement is that one of the crew speaks a "nordic" language. Further on you will be able to learn the language.
An IR-H is required in any offshore operation in the North Sea. The added cost of an IR-rating is just an investment towards your career. The yearly pay is anyway among the best in the industry. So? |
Cant you just fake it...and talk like that chef from the muppets? " a borggy brogg borgg"
|
Hughesy
The Muppet chef was Swedish so don't use his language. |
Anybody now what type of roster they do?
|
5-2-5-9, work monday through friday, weekend off, work monday through friday, 9 days off.
14-14, days on and off. 2-3, in Hammerfest they work 2 weeks on and 3 weeks off (SAR operation). rotordude |
Thanks Rotordude.................Is the SAR op an L2.
|
No, there are two L1. They will be replaced with EC225 by 2010.

Svenestron
Nil. So sorry, but all your hours in Nodic Languages will not save you if your other crew member slumps during a flight due to heart attack. You and all the passengers will all die even though you can speak all the languages in the World :} |
The advantage would be that Svenestron could give a very accurate description of what was happening in the cockit post the myocardial infarction.
Illuminating for all Norse speakers on the day in question. As he is clearly (at least) bilingual then it might be best if he could pass some of the key points of the series of events in English too. |
Svenestron
Good and innovative idea but this arrangement only works for the police you know... One police officer knows how to read, speak and write and do the police stuff, the other one is there just because he enjoys being surrounded with educated people... :E Really doesn't work in a helicopter |
Svenestron, would I be right in thinking you don't actually have a rating in Norsk, only Swedish? Better get on a language rating conversion course!!
Anyway, I didn't think the co-pilot was there in case the pilot has a heart attack; I thought he was there to make sure the pilot didn't interfere with the auto-systems!! Cheers Whirls |
Does anybody know how many pilots they are looking for? Thanks
|
My first post yipeeeeeeee!
I've heard about 10 (give or take) required for new contracts etc |
Damn..
donīt you think the should give us a "finacial aid" for the IFR???:}
After that itīs just a walk in the Park! :E But seeing a big Company lowering their requirements to an "doable" level, so low timers like myself can finally get their hopes up, is just great:ok: cheers Captino |
BTW, the same hour requirement now also goes for CHC/HS Norway, wich are in the process of hiring 20+ pilots in the next year. Good luck.
