So only trained pilots are allowed to fly below 5,000 ft (and then only with permission)? Sounds like an eminently sensible precaution to me. Keep all the novices out of the way of the rest of us... :E

I'd like to point out a small misprint in the media article - the lower limit for normal ops is 500 feet AGL (not 5000) - see Civil Aviation Reg 157.

It may be interesting to also view the ops manual of "the company" to see whether photography is classifed as aerial work and whether it also refers to that being done with only ONE extra POB apart from the pilot being a crew member who is essential to the conduct of the operation.??
