viable commercial operations?
Hi rotorheads,
As i was reading this forum last night a thought popped into my mind (doesn't happen often ;)) why doesn't the likes of Richard B, Stelios etc start a company (lets call it easy chopters, virgin heli's etc); purchase lets say a couple of bell 430's and start flying pax to and from london to replace the atrocious west cost main line? and then expand!? Am i mad, can it make money? surely it would be a more efficient service!? |
hasnt richard b tried it already?

Cost. Huge landing fees at Heathrow/City/Gatwick/Battersea. Would have to be IFR too.

Those that can afford it either have their own helicopter and chauffer (e.g. JCB et al) or they charter on an ad hoc basis with operators such as Air Harrods or Oxford Air Services etc.
Personally, I couldn't see any mileage in having a scheduled service. Cheers Whirls |
Are you just thinking replacing punters who use first class on the railways or targeting people who already use big choppers?
Was this one of those 'must start a mini-skip hire company' moments? :) |

Do it!!
Buy an old barge, park it opposite Tait modern (near to lets say Broken Wharf) have an underdeck waiting lounge and a couple AW139's and away you go!! even if it flops it would piss off these idiots based at same location!! Worth it just to see them trip over their sandals and drop their Lentil Homus!!
http://www.aef.org.uk/ These are friends of the mis guided fool beside the Air park in High Wycombe:ugh: |
Just looked at the aef website and it's really scary that they can produce something which look so professional whilst at the same time spouting as much Cr@? as it does... This is what we're up against!
