Schools in Malaysia?
 

The only school I can find does training on either an R44 or an EC-120, a tad expensive I think. There was an Americanguy who was going to offer training on an R22 but that never seemed to happen

Anyone know of any other schools (rotary) in Malaysia, or the best way to get a Malaysian CPL(H)?

As far as I know there are only 2 ways are to convert an overseas license. You either need 400 hours working as a CPLH and just do the Malaysian theory exams, or otherwise(ie if u have less than 400 hours rotary) fly 35 hours in a twin engined aircraft and do the theory exams, but was wondering if there are any other ways. Other option is do it in an R44, but that will cost way too much

As far as I know tho they only offer training on an R44 and an EC-120, which will just cost too much as compared to doing it in an R22/300CBi etc, unless they have new training helicopters?

Thanks Rancid, but once again, is there another school apart from Integrated as it only :confused:offers training on the R44 and EC-120?

Integreted is also for me the THE malaysian rotary school...

I sometimes see a R22 flying on Subang airport,but don't know if it's a private or a company one's...

Here's one in Johor. They have an R-44 that goes for about $500 USD per hour with instructor. No R-22's yet.

Thanks all for the replies. I rang and spoke to Cliff as Solaire SYstems who was very helpful and they also offer training on an R44.

Cost is around RM1750 per hour of bought in blocks of 25 hours, and thats equivalent to around £278 per hour.

It seems theres no R22's or 300CBi's available for training here in Malaysia, and the cheapest option is on an R44

Cliff as Solaire Systems is a very helpfull person for anyone looking at flying or training in Malaysia. As far as having a R22 goes, they did have a 22 for a bit however I think it was sold do to lack of use? Ask Cliff about training in a R22, he will know if anyone will in Malaysia. Might want to look into the Hong Kong Aviation Club (www..hkaviationclub.com.hk) as I think they do have a R22. I know it's not KL, hoope it helps!

Hong Kong Aviation Club is about US$ 385 with instructor. They just increased the prices, so it might be a bit higher. And that is for R22, so I guess you are better off with the R44 in Malaysia. Also, there is no cross country possibility in Hong Kong, and I don't think they are doing CPL at all (could be wrong on the CPL though).
