Firefighting
Hello!
Just wondering if someone has info on operators that have seasonal fire-fighting contracts in southern europe? What aircraft is predominantly used for fire-fighting around the mediterranean? Hope someone out there can lend a hand. B. |
Grupo Inaer has to be the main operator in Spain and Portugal, operate everything from light/medium Bells all the way to Kamov KA32.
Check their website for more info..grupoinaer.com Cheers |

Talk to 170' it's his bread and butter. And he is an ace bloke as well from the short time I spent with him.

plenty of work
There are a shortage of pilots for the firefighting season in Spain and Portugal as every year. B407s, B212s, 412s. A119s, B3s, Kamovs. Thats the machines are fliyng here. You should be able to speak the local language (Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan) and hold a JAA license.

hi guys
looking for a manual or any info on firefighting training. any info will help thanks |
Try these although they are not specifically designed for training:
USDA Forest Service Helicopter Pilot Guide USFS Safety Brief |
I assume Grupo Inaer require you to be fluent in Spanish on top of the requirements they have listed on their site?
Man, it would suck to have to fly helicopters while based out of somewhere like Seville!! I love that part of Spain. Now I just have to invest in some Spanish lessons!!! |
A word of warning re Portugal.
A few operators up there have strung aussie/kiwi companies along wanting to get helos there but the ONE rule that Portugese CAA insist on and that is Portugese co-pilot or else no contract. And that has always been a deal breaker. |
