Breitling B1.......sent it in for full overhaul as it is 10 years old and is my everyday watch so it has seen some hard use.

Just got a call from the repair shop......standby.....780 Euros!!!

Granted the digital light is almost non-existent, some buttons were seized, so it probably needs a whole new guts, but still that is about 30% of what the watch cost new :uhoh:

Which watch do you wear?

What do you need a watch for, there are more than enough clocks all over the place in a modern cockpit, and in case of emergency ask the copilot, they usually wear watches the size of a frisbee.

Casio G-shock G-7510

Big display, auto backlight, dual time zones, count up/down timer w/various repeat, vibrating alarm (the "must have feature" from this day forward)- Cheap, ugly and unbreakable.

FORIS Chrono

I'm also a big fan of FORTIS. Bought my first Chrono when I started flying and Fortis had only 6 different watches or so.

BELL & ROSS also has some amazing time pieces but I can only afford the fake ones ;)

You clearly don't fly a military helicopter (or a British one anyway). When seconds count what you really want is one small, poorly positioned, massively inaccurate and impossibly difficult to read analogue clock! Ok, so that's the last thing you want but that's all you get! Gives you an excuse when you time on target is a bit off though.

The military watch of choice (certainly on ops anyway) is the venerable Casio F91W, now available in an array of unattractive colours. I do also own a Breitling penis extension which (contrary to a previous post on here) has actually been a great investment as it has double in price over the past 7 years! Oh, and for all those that say they are rubbish and inaccurate, it hasn't lost a second in the last 5 months!

My breitling is about 45 years old and is still keeping time to within one second per week. The slide rule was invaluable pre-calculator days ;) and it has no batteries to run out ;)
