S-61N Stored at Longside Peterhead

Hello All
Was wondering with the current shortages in helicopters is that S-61 that has been stored at Longside Peterhead still there or been re-build. I think it belonged to CHC.

Thank you in advance
:)

It was g-bejl and was permantly deregistered a while back , although I have heard it may be being sent abroad to be used for spares on a damaged machine .

Definitely roaded out of Longside a while back.

G-BEJL looked like this about a year ago.

May one ask what was wrong with it?

No idea, but it had been on the ground for a number of years. Don't think it had flown since the late 90's. It had certainly flown a few hours - close to 40,000 I think- my dad mentioned it had already clocked up a fair few hours back in the mid-80's when he worked at BAH.

When I took the picture above, last year, the airframe was virtually stripped, although the cockpit and forward avionics bay was fairly complete. Did wonder if it was being kept for a 'rainy day'.

Used too much when new?

There is nothing wrong with it, just need the will and motivation to get it going again.

Remember these guys?

Six weeks ago is hardly "a while back". BEJL departed 17 or 18 October by road for Liverpool docks with reported destination Canada for spares use.
