I remember meeting Gerhard in Dubai when he was CP, I think about 1971?
My dad was flying there for Bristow... I was only knee high so I can't be sure of the dates...:ok:

Interesting ferry by Ian Clark from the UK to Oz with the replacement.

When I was in Abu Dhabi in 1969 Gerhard Trosch was already flying for the police air wing in Dubai, a small Italian, (possibly Piaggio), aircraft I think. Great bloke, sorry to hear he is no longer with us.

You are right-I missed the e. Ian is still flying at 77. I believe that ferry was completed in 10 days.

Wasn't that pilot Franz Sontag? (or was that Karl Sontag?)

Tony Hill passed away on Sunday, Its been hard, but he was Tony, till the end, with a smile and a joke for family and mates. The funeral is at Garden Island Chapel at 2pm on Friday.

Not the most exciting pic so far but it may be of interest to someone. In any case, it's all I've got until I get a slide converter.
