S-76 Question

Hi Guys,
I'm just about to convert from a Super Puma to S-76C+.
As most of you might know, the AS332 has a low impedance comm system (being a military leftover), which requires a special low impedance headset. As the S-76 is a development of the Blackhawk, does the it have a similar low impedance setup, or does it have normal comm system, and headsets?
Thanks.:ok:

Most likely normal, but it will depend on how the operator has specified/installed their ICS system: even the same type will vary between operators!

(Not sure I'd go so far as saying the 76 is a Blackhawk development!)

Hello hornylittlepuma,

Actually I have no experience on both types you mentioned, but you can use an adapter chord which converts high impedance(civil) to low impedance(military). Most of the time I fly EC145 and BK117B2(low impedance) and when I change to B412(high impedance) I connect my helmet to the adapter chord. I use it on my helmet now for more than 3 years and I never had any problems with it. It's easy to handle and a microphone change is not required. I bought mine at Flight Suits.

Hi, I had to convert my DC headset to a 'high Impedance' Mic to work with the C+ (friendly greenie just unplugged the Mic and swapped it over, using a split-pin as a retainer).

HLP,

All the C+ models I've flown have been high impedance. I also fly the A++ which has a low impedance system. My DC noise cancelling headset just has a little switch on one of the headset cups to change from high to low impedance.

Some C+ s have the Bose noise cancelling headsets; these have their own particular headset connector, totally unlike the NATO or normal civvy "male" plug and socket. Best to check with the operator?
