Not sure about mainland Malaysia, but they certainly have a couple of aircraft in Miri (WBGR) in Sarawak: an S-92 and an S-76.

bell4can 4th May 2007 10:54

They are also in Kota Bharu...

cressidom:
That is a C++ heading to Miri to join the 92,
there is also 2 S76 C+'s in Labaun on lease to MHS

Spunk 4th May 2007 18:54

... and rumours say that the ADAC (German Automobile Club/biggest EMS provider in Germany) is heading down there to set up an EMS Operation.

cressidom 6th May 2007 14:04

hi twisted...thanks much for the info...interesting I thought...where did that heli originate from ? Thailand ? are the Super Puma's being phased out ?

Spunk...are referring to VIP EMS services ? I've seen a N2 I think bright yellow orangy..regn. 9m-VIP...could be it.

Cheers

The Flying Doctor service in Sarawak may be about to use some BO105s from Germany.
The number of S76s is increasing as there is currently a shortage of passenger capacity in the offshore market in Malaysia.
The yellow N2 is bound for Australia.

twisted wrench 6th May 2007 18:27

The C++ came from Canada is brand new, air frieght to KL , assembled there and ferry flight to Miri.

Shell in Miri is changing over to S92's and this C++ is helping out untill more 92's arrive (maybe in September)

Sundance76 7th May 2007 03:52

Why 92.... Malay's dont need it!

TW...
It'll be interesting 2 c if the 92 will hold up to all that they promised....
Although the boys in the back will be happier with the leg room these short arses dont seem to need!!!!!
Give me the 76c++ any day!

And now for the truth

he1iaviator, the flying doc's are already using 105's and the 76's are being used because for some reason MHS's pumas like to swim!

The 92 in Miri is flying it's wheels off and looks like more to come, isn't that right Twisted? :ok:

he1iaviator 10th May 2007 11:20

I think you mean that the S92 is flying its doors off. I have not heard about the wheels falling off too; is that a recent event?

twisted wrench 10th May 2007 13:57

NO the wheels are not falling off the 92, is what you think, is flying a lot!

cressidom 11th May 2007 05:01

heliaviator....just saw the the yellow N2 fly eastbound for some training maybe ??

What's happening in East Malaysia..? doors and whees separating from the main aircraft ?Well as long as no swimming involved

Chinese whispers

Anybody want to join the game?

Last I heard there was this yellow CHC 365N++ being ferried from the factory in Canada without wheels and doors and it ditched of Sarawak. Luckily there was nobody on board.

Did anyone hear anything different :}

Super 61 12th May 2007 14:01

The CHC 92 in Miri has been performing really well. There has been a spate of cracked door hinges but that's now fixed. They are weak hinges for sure. The aircraft is flying a lot right now due to a shortage of Puma's at MHS. The C++ is all that was available untill the next 92 arrives. The battle between the 92 and the 225 in Miri isn't over yet. Stay tuned.

Tynecastle 12th May 2007 15:47

So, is there a 225 heading to Miri?
Think the 332 did a hell of a job there over the years, would love to see the S92 compete against the 225, head to head.
But no chance of that happening is there???? Wonder why!!!!!

Vertolot 12th May 2007 17:23

Anybody know if the MHS Super Puma Captain still run the nice little pub in Miri, I think the name of the pub was threshold 20 if I remenber right?

quichemech 12th May 2007 21:51

The pub was the threshold 20, as for Captain Yap, not had the pleasure since I left, but hopefully he is still running it.

macam2ada 13th May 2007 09:14

Super 61, are you sure there is going to be a 2nd S92 in Miri? Even the existing S92 is on a 2 year contract which comes to an end in March 2008. What happens after that is anybody's guess.
