New helicopter fleet at Thruxton?

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ruxton2007.jpg

This was taken a few weeks ago at Thruxton. Anyone know what it is (other than an old domestic oil tank with a Calor gas cylinder and a welded tail boom) or what it's for?!

The wire cutter is a nice touch - perhaps an optional extra?

Cheers

You may laugh...... will appear on Ebay soon.......Engine/ airframe for sale, can be made airworthy, no paperwork etc.........

Good to see pics of Thruxton again, had many a happy time in the bar trying to turn the "horizon" upside down :yuk:

I like the foot steps on the side - to climb up and do your checks.
Rotor head missing, check,
Rust resonable, check

I go with the Wasp HAS III.

Well thought out mod to put the Mk46 on top where it's additional height would give it another 20 - 30 yards carry, thereby almost doubling its range...

Whirls,
With 3 windows each side, I believe it to be one of those Westland 30s (WG 30).
