Any operators from Greenland?

I am looking for anyone either working in Greenland or who has worked in Greenland, for some info on jobs up there.
What operators are there, what conditions are like, what sort of flying, etc.

Thanks

HB

Hi. yes I know a thing or two about Greenland ops :)

Now there is only one operator in Greenland and that is AirGreenland. The company operates AS350B3, Bell 212, Bell 222 & S 61.

The requirements for a pilot position is pretty strict and at least 1000hrs with type rating on the AS350 and 2000 hrs for twin command positions. At the last hiring for co-pilots on the S 61 I heard the guy with least hours had 1600 hrs.

Itīs a good company to work for with good morale and very professional outfit. They also operate Dash 7, KingAir, B757 & A-330.

There used to be another operator AirAlpha which has now been taken over by AirGreenland.

They have about 100 pilots in their employement.

From what i understand Helitrans in Norway go out to Greenland for the season with a 214 - LN-OPO and an AS350 B2 LN-OPE I believe the 214 is on its way back there 1 may. They are out there helping a structural bulding of power lines. I have a suspiscion that they are on contract to Air Alpha (Denmark) Greenland, as there is a logo of sorts on those two machines mentioned.

Helitrans is a fussy firm to get in with unless, you have flown in Norway or have lots of long line experience from another country with similar terrain as Norway. I don't know the hours requirements, but i know they like to recruit from within.

Good luck.

Thanks for your replies. Quite encouraging, and it is the sort of thing I am interested in doing next.
