Taken just north of Liverpool in November 2001. The quality is poor as a high rate of compression was used, when I update the site I'll increase the quality.......

BlenderPilot and autorotate,
This is a Djinn SO 1221, I logged about 150 H crop spraying back in 1976, and I crashed one. The engine produces compressed air which is ejected at the blades tip, hence no need for a T/R. ATN |

We've built up a wonderful collection of photographs posted by our members all over the world.
To say it's popular would be an understatement - we've just passed through 50,000 hits! :ok: :ok: :ok: |
Dear ATN, (and Ned)
Thanks for the info, you are my hero, flying one of those must have been a true adventure. Did you have yaw control? How? |
BlenderPilot,
Yaw control by a rudder like fixed wings, in hover the engine exhaust provides the airstream to the rudder, not very effective though, depending on the crosswind for example to turn 90 to the right it may be easier to turn 270 to the left. Cheers ATN |
Our picture collection is currently averaging 2000+ hits a week.
Thanks for posting your pics guys. :ok: |

Like your publications Autorotate, these shots are awesome, no wonder you're one of the best. Keep it coming.
|
TC - Thanks for the comments and glad you like them, pubs and pics that is. I just try to capture dynamic type images that show helicopters doing what they do best.
I have some other "**** Hot" type images with helos in 'unique' angles but if I post them here will get rained on by those saying it doesnt show helicopters in a professional light etc. Autorotate. |
Neville
I'm sure we'd enjoy seeing some of your 'unique' angle shots. Why not post some? We're a broad-minded lot. |
Neville Ol' Chap,
Please post those unique Pic's...........................don't mind the do good'ers.......................we'll blast their irrelevent comments off the board! Show the stuff we all get up to one time or another!!!!:p |
