Interesting bit of news from the Guild web site
Now this would throw a wrench into the works.....
ICAO age limits and medicals From 23 November there will be some changes which will affect many members. Firstly, ICAO has advised that commercial pilots in the multi crew environment may continue flying up to age 65 so long as the co-pilot is under 60. Individual countries may keep their own rules which may be more restrictive, but no country will be able to ban pilots over 60 from either over-flying or landing. Additionally, it has been agreed that pilots between 40 and 60 will only require an annual medical. The only potential downside to the recent discussions is that the limit for single pilot commercial operations may be lowered to age 50 based on accident statistics. |
