I can certainly recommend the "The olde Six Bells" which is in walking distance. Very good food and more!

Walking distance if you enjoy walking over a mile along a dual carriageway!

And what is this shortcut then?

... just throw some flu-powder into your fireplace, step into it and say "Ye olde six Bells" very clearly. Make sure the pronunciation is spot on, otherwise god knows where you will end up .....
