less noisy than .....what?

RomeoAlfa 16th Nov 2005 14:10

Oh,I'm sorry

;))
Then AS355,S76.May be you have compare chart for them?

May be I have to refine my question
Which of modern commercial helicopters have minimum noise level in flight ?
Sorry,I\'m not native Eng speaker

In the <3000kg class for twins, I believe the newest MD900 has just stolen the crown from the EC135 as the quietest european helicopter.[Before the MD takeover from a non european management].

damn..................thought you were out of town!

Heliplane 17th Nov 2005 14:05

They're all pretty quiet until you get them going!

RomeoAlfa 20th Nov 2005 01:17

OK

So,what about those heavy horses I mentioned above?

Aesir 20th Nov 2005 18:59

EC-120
EC-135
MD-900
MD-520N

Are all pretty quiet. From reading about the subject I´mled to believe that the MD-900 is a bit quieter than the EC-135 when using the US mode of measuring overflight noise at 1000´ with severeal sensors.

You mention "heavy horses"? Did you mean in the SA-365 & S-76 class?

I would think that the EC-155 would be the winner as far as noise is concerned in that class, but that´s just a guess!

Yess

They are twin engines(important!),>3000 kg(payload),so they are heavy horses;))
