Bell 205 Endorsement

Guys,

Can anyone give me a steer on where I could get a 205 endorsement, either in OZ or NZ.

Thanks

G'day Bigsquirrel,

There is only one "proper" B205 in Australia, operated by Helicorp at Essendon Airport. I don't know whether they do endorsements, however. Give Mark or Roger a ring and see what they say. There are a number of ex military UH-1's around, Helicopters Pty. Ltd. at Bankstown operate one and also have a flying school, so they may be your best bet.

Cheers,

MPT

MPT,

Thanks for your reply, I was actually thinking that helicorp. was my best bet.

Heli-Aust at Bankstown are operating a couple of UH-1H, they also sent one off to Webb Helicopters in Emerald (QLD) as part of a deal.

I know that Webb has given a couple of drivers an endorsement etc, but am not sure if it is the same class endorsement covering 205's

cheers

Peter Franks of Buzz Aviation has a 205A1 with the -17
on the Australian register.
Very nice helicopter

G'day ayaarr,

I understood that Buzz's 205 was cancelled from the register when it was sent overseas for a long term contract (out in the Pacific somewhere if my memory serves me correctly). The B205 / UH1 is recognised as the one endorsement anyway I believe.

Cheers,

Just out of interest, what does a 205 endorsement cost?

"Any quotes on 205 hourly rates "

Around $3000 per hour. (Just a guess)

Heard on the grapevine though that Heli-Aust won some of the National fire contracts with some 212's from the US at $1760 ph AND crewed by Canadians. Great news for us huh?

B205 Endorsement

My UH-1H/ B205 endorsement... Around 20 hours ground and 5 hours flight time. Although I completed in house training, Heli-pro in Palmerston North is your best bet if looking in NZ.
Great helicopter to fly hope you enjoy

$3000/hour sounds a bit steep....shouldnt be more than $2000

Tell me you're kidding, please  Look for mid $3k's plus GST, and you might get toward a proper Adhoc return on a 205. Re the earlier comment on hourly rates on contract, that's as well as a daily standing charge.

I take it that pilots and engineers do expect to get paid? The longer rates stay low, the more difficult it remains to make a decent margin to pay everyone well.

Helicorp's 205 is on contract for some time and unlikely to be available for training, by the way.

John,

I know what the 205 is up to, do you know how long the contract is for; also do you know if a 205 endorsement covers all single engine huey models or do you need individual endorsement for each model.

Thanks

The (T)UH-1F is the variant of the Huey with a T-58 engine. There are a number operating in Oz.

Agusta made yet another variany of this with a 204 with a Gnome engine. I believe there may be a few resident PPRuNers that had the opportunity to fly at least one of these models.
