Floppy Link 2nd Jun 2005 18:57

muffin 2nd Jun 2005 19:45

That's interesting. I have been trying to sfh an R22 at Perth on my annual trip there for years now. Do you have any contact details as I am going in a few weeks time.?

debasser 2nd Jun 2005 19:51

They are called Kingsfield Helicopters and have 2x R22's and 1x R44 They will retain a base in Perth and have a heliport being built in Linlithgow which is 6/7 nm outside Edinburgh

MK10 4th Jun 2005 11:03

HELIPORT LINTHIGO

its going to be a base for kingsfield
helis, from what i,ve heard.but not
sure exactly where.

anyone got contact details for the
Glenrothes R22

Pat Malone 4th Jun 2005 11:37

The Glenrothes R22 is Tayside Helicopters, run by a chap called Adrian Hallas, formerly of Peterborough Conington. He has apparently taken one one former Forth & Clyde part-time instructor. This is a totally new operation and I know nothing of the people involved, but they're www.taysidehelicopters.com and Adrian is 07879 494331. His landline, 01592 882020, doesn't seem to be working at the time of writing.
Kingsland Helicopters is (I believe) Russell Hogan, who used to instruct at Forth & Clyde and who owned two R22s. He is operating out of Perth pro tem, while trying to licence the new site at Linlithgow. Debasser has already posted his phone number.
There's also a chap called Gary Stevens, who operates an R22 out of Perth. I don't have his contact details, but I'm sure he can be found through Perth Aerodrome, 01738 551631.
The demise of Forth & Clyde is a great shame. I'm told of at least one student who is several thousand pounds out of pocket, having paid for some of his flying up front - always a bad move.

Floppy Link 4th Jun 2005 12:35

R44 on the grass at Perth today
Colin in the radio room says it's leased in.

ralphmalph 4th Jun 2005 14:46

Forth & Clyde?

Do you mean Glasgow heliport area outfit?

Cheers

Ralph

TiPwEiGhT 4th Jun 2005 18:02

I believe there is more than 1 person who is owed money by F&C, a great shame that a school has had to close, however it is nice to see someone with the determination to make a fresh start!

I know the R44 at Perth today, leased in from HJS Helicopters in Aberdeen I believe. Met some of those guys before, they seem to know their stuff, hopefully Kingsfield follow in the same direction!

Phugoid Phlue 6th Jun 2005 18:14

I think the other ex F&C instructors have set up independently too.

There's another new school and charter operation based at prestwick and also operating from edinburgh - Mach Aviation. They are operating 44's, 22's and a turbine.

You can get hold of them through Prestwick Flight Centre - 01292 476523.

Good to see the entrepreneurial sprit keeps going!

Blind 7th Jun 2005 00:30

There is indeed a new company called mach aviation being set up, they have an R22, R44 and a gazelle on an AOC. Two young guys are running it and having spoken to them both I can vouch for them both being very proffesional and approachable and both chaps have a number of very valuable contacts in the industry.

Good luck you two.....

Blind.................................now please get me off the North Sea...

The numbers for Tayside Helicopters are now correct on the website (small problem with well known telephone company).

The number for helicopter operations is 01592 757772. This will put you through to an instructor, but is not continuously manned. Calls will diverted to an instructors mobile outside office hours.

For bookings and general enquiries, call 01592 753792. Manned during airport hours.

Website is www.taysidehelicopters.com
