Tuesday, November 15, 2011 Abu Dhabi AW139 Training Center Named</SPAN> AgustaWestland has designated Horizon Flight Academy’s joint venture with Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA) as an authorized training center for the AW139 in Abu Dhabi. Horizon is a subsidiary of Mubadala Aerospace. The agreement calls for ADA/Mubadala to train pilots using an EASA-approved AW139 Level D full flight simulator (FFS) from AgustaWestland and CAE. AgustaWestland CEO Bruno Spagnolini noted the importance of serving operators the Middle East adding that the ADA/Mubadala partnership will provide “AW139 type conversion, recurrent and operational role training to operators across the region.” Abu Dhabi Aviation’s commercial helicopter fleet includes 16 AW139s |
Mmmm ....
A little bird has told me of upheaval going on at Falcon Aviation in the wake of contract loss .... As usual the most experienced and long serving of their pilots are being let go in rather brutal fashion .... Lets hope that 'what goes around ... comes around' quickly for those management types as well .... Let us all keep an eye on their operational safety standards ... I predict some serious slipping in the future !!! := Good luck to all that stay there .... they're going need it ! :E |
Mmmm ...
Well further to my previous post ... I have been informed that the situation at FAS is going from 'Bad' to 'Friggin Desperate' with even MORE layoffs in the pipeline ... both Flight crew (over 60 yrs old) and Engineering (over 55 yrs old) being earmarked for severe culling. :( Accommodation arrangements are being severely downgraded for touring crews ... and any replacement workforce apparently will only come from the subcontinent or equivalent .... :oh: The best part is that the CEO, the CP & the Engineering Manager and any one else in responsible management positions have 'bunkered down' with the HR manager going on leave ... apparently NOBODY is contactable even by phone .... so much for the vaunted 'open door' policy ... := Lots of very unhappy campers ..... :{ .... whats really going on ... is the end near I wonder ???? |
Hey Spinwing buddy, and you ask me why I moved on? 🏃
Ok, ok, frying pan and all that... But I'm having a screech with this new culture 🐘 Really glad to be out of the LFZ 😉 |
Mmm ...
Ha ... good for you mate .... enjoyed your pics on that other place .... look after yourself ... Take care .... :ok: Spurs got screwed again this year ... wonder what next year will bring? :{ |
Hey Spinwing I take it from your comments that the head shed are bomb proof again?
|
Mmm ...
That would seem to be the case .... :( |
UAE: ADA, Gulf Heli, Falcon etc...
Does anyone know the requirements to join any helicopter operator in the UAE as a co-pilot, or does anyone know of some good contacts (HR, Chief pilot etc..)? Or any jobs going? I have FAA CPL/IR(H) 1700TT, 1600 SET, 1st Class Medical.

advice please
Hello folks
looking for a break in Middle East but no reply through their web site(Aero Gulf/Abu Dhabi Aviation,FAS ,Gulf Heli etc) for long .this is despite having > 5000 hrs TT and 1900 hrs on offshore with 500 hrs on ME as PIC.Total PIC 2000 hrs- helicopters. I have a ICAO ATPLl(H) with IR on EC155 B1 and AS 365 N(currency expired) and high altitude experience above 600 hrs(above 12000' pa) with HEMS and VVIP communication above 1000 hrs. Is it because i do not have a FAA ATP....?Well it seems......that...unless you guys have anything more to add on... Wondering if some one can leave a useful thread........ Many Happy landings |
Mmmm ...
Perhaps you don't have the experience on the aircraft they operate ... ADA, Aerogulf, Falcon Air Services & Gulf Helicopters primarily operate Bell 412 (or 212 in the case of Aerogulf) or the Aw139 (ADA, A'gulf & Gulf Heli.) they might in the present climate be loathe to type rate you only to run the risk of having you walk away if you don't 'fit' ... Its tough ... but there you are ... :( Also ADA & Falcon are reassessing crew requirements in the light of contract changes so perhaps more patience is the key ?? Good luck waiting ... :bored: |
Several are hiring: check their websites.
Apply. Inexperience is in vogue. Also do your homework. May I suggest “Coping with Narcissistic Personality Disorder” to prepare you for the interview. Good luck. |
ADA hiring
Requirements....
None really... just buy a certificate, lie about your flight time, have poor english speaking skills and no work ethic whatsoever and your a shoe in. Been hiring by these standards for years now. Turning into a bottom feeder operation. Hiring non qualified incompetents by the dozen. Tough on folks who have been here awhile!!!:ugh: As long as you dont make the midget bulldog, the octagenarian, or anyone else in MGT upset or better yet just be a total kiss a$$, you will be fine!!! Spineless unprofessionals with no work ethic welcome!!!:ouch: |
Is it really so bad overthere ?
JR |
Bad over there?
Yes it is. No further comment; been there and done that. It was an 'experience'. Not a good one. - VFR

Middle East Jobs???
I was just inquiring whether anyone here has a handle on the job situation in the middle east.
I have a friend, fellow pilot (700 hrs mostly R22/44 with around 50 hours Jet Ranger) Faa CPL/IR. He insists that once he gets his CPL in the UK that their are plenty of job opportunities in the middle east. I'm not as optimistic as him but was hoping to here if anyone here has any insights Regards |
Mmmmm ....
....... anyone here has any insights ..... Zim ... Yes plenty of 'insight' here ... tell your friend to keep smoking those funny cigarettes ... that way he won't notice his 'reality' is more than a little bit distorted. ;) |
