Caverton - World Centre of Helicopter Excellence

Lt. Kije,

Caverton, YES :ok:. World centre of helicopter excellence operating Twinned Ooters and expecting S92s and 139s any day from now. Occasionally they may pay you and you'll even be allowed out on leave a couple of times a year. Yes, go for it. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha :}:}:}:}:}:}:}:}:}:}

Yarba 26th Jan 2009 19:28

Caverton has very impressive website - shame that most of the helicopters in it are not even in Nigeria again :ugh:. The A109 was sold a long time ago and I heard the Dauphins are back with their owner in Portugal. The red one they flew through a power line or something, they have no offshore contract and the helipad in Lagos has legal dispute. About all was flying when I left was the Astars and a Twin Otter. The company is joke man!

alouette 26th Jan 2009 20:25

that's what I heard....:uhoh:

Lt. Kije 26th Jan 2009 20:54

Okay, fair enough. Are there any that a) aren't a joke and; b) are hiring?

alouette 26th Jan 2009 21:01

Port Harcourt Deteriorates Further

Things just continue to deteriorate in Port Harcourt.

Yesterday an attempted kidnapping of the 2 children of a Nigerian Shell employee went badly wrong, resulting in a young girl, only 11 years old being murdered while trying to stop her 8 year old brother being kidnapped. The children were leaving their house to go to school. It seems there are no depths to which these depraved criminals will not descend. The young boy is still being held.

Meanwhile, MEND announced that as the result of an attack on the camp of militant leader Ateke Tom, near Cawthorne Channel, it would end a four-month ceasefire from 0100 (0000 GMT) on Saturday.

On a slightly lighter note, the NCAA has downgraded the Port Harcourt International Airport from grade eight to seven, citing lack of adequate fire fighting equipment to serve wide-body aircraft during an emergency.
News about the downgrade came just as African Petroleum Plc reduced the price of aviation fuel prices, by 44 per cent – a development that will have a spill-over effect on air fares in Nigeria ’s domestic operations.
The implication of the downgrade of the Port Harcourt Airport is that only smaller aircraft can now land and take off from the airport until FAAN meets the condition specified by NCAA.

On the bad side of news;

It is reported that Nigerian militants attacked a gas plant operated
by Royal Dutch Shell in the Niger Delta on Saturday, 7 January, and warned of more strikes tocome. However, the military said it had repelled the raid and killed three gunmen.

Good news - this fine lady starts her first commercial flight tomorrow
Damm and I am still flying a desk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...g/P1180515.jpg

Biggestboy,

I am with thee NCAA, I learned how to do my job from the US FAA. I am here to help you. Your rotor blades are bent and obviously unairworthy. They will have to be repaired or replace immediate before any further flight. Sine you have operated this helicopter in an unairworthy condition I am imposing an N12m penalty.

Having a very nice day.

Patode 8th Feb 2009 18:27

Good news

It would seem that Bristow finally figured out the pecking order. It would make more professional sense for the guys with twin experience to fly the bird first, before someone that is transitioning from a B206 and B407.

biggestboy 8th Feb 2009 22:29

Rick 1128 - if you will just put N10 million in my bank account, I will be able to open my uncles inheritance and pay you your money.:p

Patode - you sound well balanced - must have a chip on both shoulders.:{
