Lu Zuckerman ~ TV star
Our own Lu Zuckerman was just on TV. :ok:
The Discovery Channel just aired a program called 'Disaster Detectives'. The program was about the Air Transat flight that landed in the Azores after gliding for approximately 200 miles over the Atlantic. The world's longest glide of a passenger aircraft. Lu was discussing the cause of the fuel leakage. |
Lu For Governor of California!
Look out Arnold, Lu is right behind you!
|
I suppose he knows as much about that as he knows about anything.
Did he manage to work Robinson pitch horns into the conversation? |
A point of view skewed as usual.

I suppose he knows as much about that as he knows about anything. Speaking about writing for publication my book is at the printers as we "speak". I am awaiting your reply. Make it good. :E :E |
DJ, since when did an A330 have a glide ratio of 1:30?
|
Kudos to Lu...
Lu,
Congratulations! Don't mind t'aint natural's playful nature; he's just trying to get your dander up. Take a look at t'aint natural's "WHO's WHO" post (scroll to bottom), and you will see that his hobbies include "Playing Heliport's straight man and winding up Lu." Ah-dee Rik-stah |
sycamore,
Maybe the lack of fuel and that the passengers were constantly in the washrooms 'relieving' themselves helped with the glide slope. :D Seriously, at one point I think the documentary mentioned 37 FL and 200 miles out, then at another point it mentioned 4 to 5 miles for each loss of 1,000 feet. |
For anyone that's in the UK a rather handsome PPRuNer (read CRAN) will be on HORIZON's - BBC TV on 17th December designing and analysing bits of a 100-years-of-flight replica of Percy Pilchers powered glider!
And NO....it wasn't my fault that it crashed!:E CRAN :) |
Exclusive: Lu Zuckerman embroiled in scandal claims
Reuters - October 9th, 2003 Celebrity rotorcraft expert Lu Zuckerman today become embroiled in an alleged scandal only hours after kicking-off his campaign for the 2006 Californian election on the Discovery Channel. A female British journalist, who had interviewed Zuckerman as part of her background research into the Robinson R22 for the hit show “Fear Factor” in 2002, claimed that the celebrity rotorhead made inappropriate gestures during the meeting. “He was extremely charming at first,” recalled the unnamed journalist, “captivating me with his explanation of the intricacies of centripetal force. But before I knew it, he was groping my collective and playing with my cyclic.” At which point, the lady in question alleges, Mr. Zuckerman landed the helicopter and left her in the lurch, without even a backward glance, as he strode off to examine the gearbox on a nearby S-76… ;) |
If you only knew....
To: Ian Corrigible
When I first started to read your post I thought my god, it has hit the European newspaper now everybody knows. If you remember a while back I made some comments about asbestos and how the management of a certain European helicopter company did nothing to remove it in order to protect their employees. An employee of that company corrected me and he told his management about my comments. As a result, I have been threatened with a lawsuit for slander. Maybe Flying Lawyer can correct me but I believe slander and libel must involve lies and defamation but everything I said was true. I'm trying to get the lawyer to respond to my many Emails that I sent in response to his letter. Shooting ones’ mouth off is analogous to shooting ones’ self in the foot. :E :( |
Lu: It's the thirteenth strike of the clock that casts doubt on the previous twelve.

Slings and errors

God I wish I had your skill in the use of words. :E :ok: :E When I use this symbol :ok: it is in the context of the Middle East. |
I wish you did too, Lu.
Then we wouldn't have to plough through these interminable half-bright witterings that got you banned from every other web forum. |
Check your sources
To: t'aint natural
Hopefully when you publish an article you check your sources. The only forum from which I was banned was Rotorheads. I was not banned from PPRuNe. I can if I wish participate on Just Helicopters but I don't choose to. I participate on Vertical Reference and the Canadian helicopter forum and I don’t have any problems on any of them. Could it be that on those forums there ar no idiots like you So either get it right or shut up. :ok: :ok: :ok: Remember my last post. Think Middle East. |
t'aint natural,
That's not fair. You know that Lu was banned from Rotorheads because he uses his real name. The same thing happened to Nick Lappos and myself. Come to think of it, there haven't been any posts from Shawn Coyle recently. :D :D |
T'aint, ISTM that winding up Lu isn't a very lofty ambition. He seems pretty tightly wound naturally, and further winding is just too easy to be worth the time. But idle activity can sometimes be fun, no? :p :D
|
Keep it up Lu...
... you have a loy of pilots out there admiring what you do...
|
Nick Lappos?
I don't remember that. |
I don't remember that. He wasn't banned, he just couldn't log on because of a glitch in the programming. :8 |
Here we go.....Lu says:
Maybe Flying Lawyer can correct me but I believe slander and libel must involve lies and defamation but everything I said was true. Also: I'm trying to get the lawyer to respond to my many Emails that I sent in response to his letter. Lu, can you post some of those emails up here for a giggle? :ok: (secret middle eastern sign) |
