Helitech Refuelers, ***

Was anyone impressed by their total lack of comitment to help fill up all the Helis that were thirsty and in need, It seems a great pity that they were such a cavalier/cowboyish/ buch of unimpressable nomarks, that I am sure people will never arrive at Helitech again with low fuel,
They lacked enthusiasm,
They didn't know how to operate their kit
And in general let down the whole ending of the proceedings.

Sorry Helitech, had a brill time but spoilt at the end!

somebody is going to say they were not employed by Helitech, but people will assume they were:mad: :ouch:

Went to helitec yesterday and I got lucky with the fuel situation, only waiting around 10-15mins for Avgas.
I heard that there was only one guy refuelling all the helicopters and he took turns either doing JetA1 or avgas.
If he was in the JetA1 tanker and you needed avgas you were in for a long wait.

That was the only bad experience of a excellent show... I thought the parking area was as impressive as the static display.

So I wasn't the only one, eh?

I arrived at about 1115 on the Tuesday, feeling all pleased with myself by calling for fuel over the R/T on arrival (as briefed) and got my timiing completely wrong, for, as Mikeb rightly says, matey was using the JetA1 bowser and I wanted Avgas for me little R22. The message apparently was not passed on, so I asked him direct. When an old man with one tooth arrived in the Avgas bowser, the jetA1 bowser broke down so he toddled off to get his spanners. On his return younger chap #1 didn't know how to operate the Avgas bowser...

The whole operation took an hour during which I could have been drooling over the hardware at the show. On the plus side, I couldn't get upset as the two refuellers were such nice guys, but it should hardly have been a surprise to the organisers that, behold, lots of helicopters were flying in needing fuel, 'cos we all had arrival slots!!!

:uhoh:
