Such a nice guy. A neighbour in Ellon, and I had a very enjoyable two weeks in Stornaway with him, supporting a JMC exercise. There was some 80 Shillings involved!

Tomorrow morning, weather and SAROps permitting, we will land next to Billy’s Memorial on Bressay and lay a wreath. The weather has been fitting of late 💨🌊

My hat goes off to anyone involved in SAR, seen video of S-61 chaps doing what, to a rather ordinary helo practitioner, is the unthinkable. Telly recently had a series on the RNLI and my incredulity to what they regarded as ops normal was staggering. Coastguard Winchman Bill Deacon, a very humble salute.
