Sometimes the really needed improvements are at the top...not the bottom....like the EC-225.

True for all helicopters, except those that are flown from the left seat. Indeed, the biological component of the flight systems is nearly always the cause of all problems.

FUEL CONSUMPTION 0.001 lbs/hph maximum
which would give 140 lbs/hr = 20 GPH @ 140hp after the usual 3-orders-of-magnitude correction. 100 kg saved = 32 gallons more of Jet-A over the standard 26 gallons. 58 gallons would give 2.9 hours of flight, not bad if one could find a place to store all this fuel.
