Rotorheads Desktop Calendar - Volunteer needed.

Well folks,

After nearly 4 years of producing the monthly calendar I have run out of steam. This is in part due to me getting a new job that leaves me likely to forget to make time to do these other things.

If anyone would like to volunteer, please send me a private message. You will need to have a basic working knowledge of Photoshop, and a copy (or subscription to) Photoshop itself.

Kind regards,

Not volunteering for the position, but there shouldn't be a requirement for someone to have to own an expensive Photoshop license. This works just as well, is open source, and free:

Typical Robbie drivers always wanting a cheap product

You can subscribe to a whole Adobe suite that includes PS for a mere $9.99 per month which is how I do it.
If you believe anything works "as well" as photoshop, then sir, I am afraid you have never tried using it in anger (or indeed joy).

I rarely have the need for image manipulation, and when I do my needs are simple and well met by open source software. Surely a calendar overlay on a photo does not require top shelf software. And there are plenty of frugal, if not starving, turbine pilots out there. Not to mention more than a few who might be philosophically opposed to using "big iron" software (e.g. Microsoft, Adobe, et al).

At any rate, here I am trying to do a favor by providing a perfectly serviceable path for those who don't want to buy a license, or <shudder> a subscription (a most insidious way of emptying a wallet) and thereby open up a larger pool of potential volunteers, and I get slagged for it

I was about to say Welcome to PPrune aa777888....but I see you're nowhere near a newbie.
I grew thicker skin because of some of the people on here.
Dont take offence as a bigger majority likely appreciated your effort.

And that is how it ended ....

.... with a whimper.

The single biggest hurdle is getting any photographs sent to you. And the fact that Robinson are unwelcome subjects etc. etc. And all the BS that flows from that.

As for the editing tool ... Photoshop works. They've done studies you know - 60% of the time, it works every time.

In the meantime ..... be safe.

Regardless, I think we all owe Peter3127 a big "good show" for taking this on and doing the job he did. I, for one, think he did a great job!!!
