Babcock/Italy have been desperate for 145 pilots for the past years to cover their operation in Congo (?) I heard...

There was not only one pilot here in the forum who either worked for them in the past or had contact with them advising not to take a job with them for various reasons....must be a reason when so many pilots are leaving..

Think you do. Specialist have advertised for a long time, their pay a disgrace. NPAS have finally seen the light as they were also recruiting with alarming regularity. Multiflight HEMS seem to pay more than the rest so that's the benchmark with NPAS now approaching similar levels.

So get better pay and fly tired N2s with dubious PC1 performance or an insulting lower wage on a newer, more capable aircraft?
and that Ladies and Gentlemen is the state of the Onshore HEMS industry ;-)

oops! Thread drift

That’s the HEMS rate. SPIFR charter is generally a bit more.

The hems rate for P1 starts as low as 53k and for P2 a ridiculous 33k. That’s at one bottom feeder. Those in charter on twins of similar type are salaried usually 85k and up depending on experience. Freelance rates between 600 and 750 depending on type and qualification. There are numerous 6 figure jobs and that’s not even bringing offshore/SAR into the equation where even new baby P2’s are earning more than many HEMS P1’s.

No wonder they are looking for pilots at those rates! You could earn more driving a London Bus! Just seems ridiculous.

Yeah maybe if the bus driver worked 365 days per year.
61K is well above the average earnings in the UK. An experienced Police Officer gets 35k. The Paramedic will be on about 35K. So personally I think 61k is OK for this type of role.

I was referring to pay rates in post #112

Bristow were paying copilots £120 per day, for working a day off, thirty years ago!

I’m not sure if I’ve misinterpreted your reply but co-pilots are getting just under £400 for a worked day off these days and there’s no shortage of it!
