NCSHP OH-58 Non-Fatal Crash

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) reported the crash of a State owned OH-58 helicopter at a Patrol Training Base in Garner, a suburb of Raleigh North Carolina today.

The State Trooper Pilot is said to have "lost control" of the helicopter during takeoff and landed hard on the helipad causing the aircraft to roll over , shed its main rotor blades and tali boom.

The Pilot was treated at a nearby State Patrol Medical facility and the passenger was taken to Hospital for treatment.

The Patrol, FAA, and NTSB will all conduct investigations.
