PPL (H) IR Rating

Guys as a PPL (H) with 3000+ hours, lapsed instructor rating with a multi engine rating and currently flying a A109 what would I need to complete an IR rating in the 109, what exams would I need to take, I’d like to do EASA IR training but I’m getting a bit long in the tooth for all of the studying, does anyone know if I could go down the FAA route then do or add on EASA IR training in the UK

I was thinking exactly same thing as I have a 109 Mk2 but no IR ..... decided I’m too old to go back to school ! The 109 has just come back from its annual and is for sale ( with a small spares package ) and I’m going back to singles !!!

Depending on your experience, fixed wing might be the way to go. FAA to EASA IR(H) is 15 hours (plus the cost of getting your FAA IR (40 hours)
EASA IR(A) to IR(H) is only 10 hours (plus the cost of getting your PPL and IR)
I reckon converting to fixed wing and getting an IR could be cheaper than getting the FAA IR, especially as the CBIR route only requires 40 hours.

Unless you really need an IR is it worth all the hassle?
