The Opportunity - Co-Pilot Touring Position
We are currently seeking a Co-Pilot for our Roma & Toowoomba bases. This position is a touring position, 7 days on, 7 days off (inclusive of public holidays and weekends). The pay and conditions are in accordance with the LifeFlight Australia Limited Rotary Wing Pilots Certified Agreement 2016-2019.

About You
To be successful for this role you must hold the following qualifications:

  • CPL (H)
  • Type Rating (B412)
  • CIR-ME
  • NVFR(H)
  • 500 hours rotary wing
  • 250 hours Multi-Engine rotary wing
  • 100 hours PIC rotary wing
  • 50 hours on contract type
  • Dangerous Goods Certificate
  • HUET/EBS Certified
  • Class 1 medical
Desirable:
  • ATPL (H)
  • Previous EMS/SAR experience
  • NVIS Rating

Yes. And there is no way somebody without Australian residency would get hired for a 412 co-pilot touring position.

National Parks and Wildlife Service manages, conserves and cares for land in national parks and reserves. NPWS links customer, conservation and cultural outcomes in a sustainable way by building participation in the management and use of parks.

Primary purpose of the role: Coordinate the flight assets and operations of the Service (Parkair) to ensure the safe utilisation of aviation assets in support of field and emergency operations, and all personnel who will be utilising those assets and ensure compliance with all regulations.

Pilot the helicopters to transport people and equipment and provide support to specific field operations of the OEH (Water bucketing, aerial incendiary work, aerial shooting and observation).

The occupant may also hold various roles in the Unit such as HAAMC, and Chief Pilot in waiting and if suitable ratings held, Senior Ag pilot.

An approved Chief Pilot in waiting for OEH is required under the OEH’s Operations manual. The role requires a focus on regulatory compliance and is a critical link between the AOC holder and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) when the Chief pilot is away on leave.

Your part in the ongoing success of our business, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including:

• Successful applicants will be required to gain CASA approval as a Chief Pilot.

• Final appointment will be subject to a flying and oral assessment by the Deputy Chief Pilot.

• In compliance with CASA Drug and Alcohol Management Plan requirements the preferred applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment testing and to participate in the QGAir Drug and Alcohol Management Program.

Highly Desirable requirements

• Domestic and International travel may be a considerable requirement of this role.

• There may be a requirement to undertake relief duties at other QGAir Helicopter Rescue Air Bases
