Jack Woolley

Ex-Bristow Helicopters personnel may be interested to know that my father, Jack Woolley, died peacefully on 6 January 2017 at the age of 93. He had been suffering from lung cancer since 2014. Dad was one of the founding directors of Bristows and was Technical Director until he retired, which I think was in 1982. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made. Anyone that wants more information can PM me at [email protected].

Very sorry to hear of your Father's passing!

That generation of Bristow folk were a very interesting and capable group that made working for the Company far more than just a job! Your Dad was one of those that I have some fond memories about.

Condolences to you and your family!

Thank you

I was one of the very first Bristow apprentices back in 1973. Obviously I did not know him well but I would like to thank your dad for giving me a wonderful life as a helicopter man, Please accept my condolences.

A name always tied in with Engineering in Bristows in the old days. He set the standards with which the company operated for many years. I know my father always had the utmost respect for him.

Andrew,
I had the pleasure of working with your Dad, and Alistair Gordon (and Alan Bristow) during the S-61 and early S-76A days. He was the consummate professional, and as sharp as can be in all matters technical. Please accept my deepest sympathies on his passing.

Andrew,
Sorry to hear about your father, a legend in Bristow's. I last spoke to him at the Helicopter Museum at Alan Bristow's book signing, he seemed fine then.

Hi Andrew.
I'm very sorry to hear of your father's death. He was in fact great mates with my father Bernard Rose also, a pioneer in the engineering world of Bristows. This was back in the 60s when we lived in Horley.
We came to Australia in 1967 as a family, my father as the managing engineer with Bristows. I have seen your father's name written in his note book diary and my mum even remembers your dad. Unfortunately, my father died at the age of 46. I actually fly for Bristow in Australia.
I wish you and your family well.
Alan
